Led by the Barnet Society, you will see fine architecture and landscape including almshouses with shared gardens and recent public realm improvements, and visit the remarkable Arts & Crafts Ravenscroft Cottages and Thomas Watson Cottage Homes – inspiring examples of common space across the centuries.
This walk takes you through the town centre and the lovely Green Belt to its south-west. To see more of the centre and countryside to the north-east, join our other walk on 14 or 24 June.
This walk is about 2.5 hours/4.5 miles long including rough (sometimes muddy) paths which disabled people would find challenging, and sturdy footwear is essential. But we go at a gentle pace, and there will be frequent stops and opportunities to rest. Refreshments available in the town, but we advise carrying your own. Tickets £5 or £2.50 for unwaged. Maximum group size 20.
