Join Sophie Guinness, Curriculum Leader of Horticulture and Garden Design at Capel Manor College, for a mapping workshop which invites you to come and explore Crystal Palace Park, critically evaluating your experiences of open space.
Capel Manor College is London’s environmental college and helps thousands of school leavers and adults achieve their dream of working with animals, plants and the environment.
Together we will undertake surveys of the Park looking at what open space can do for us. We will do this by assessing noise, the quality of wildlife habitats, colour and our feelings of well-being to help us understand how we experience open space. We will use these surveys to create a ‘critical map’ that documents how we experience the Park and create ideas for how we could make the open space work more sustainably for us in the future. Everyone is welcome to participate in this workshop which is suitable for all ages. The workshop will be in the open air in the Park in an area that is wheelchair accessible.
