Design YOUR Crystal Palace! – Competition

10 June - 30 June

Penge Library is teaming up with Graham Whitlock, author of The Crystal Palace Chronicles and publishers Parakeet Books to invite 6-12 year olds to enter a competition to ‘Design YOUR Crystal Palace’.

The Crystal Palace is the areas’ most iconic and influential building. Although the palace is no longer with us, we’ll be inspiring architects and designers of the future to unleash their imaginations and create their own Crystal Palace. You decide what you want to show in your palace to attract millions of visitors and what your building might look like. A nod to the past? A fusion of past and future? A whole new design?

There are two competition categories, ages 6-8 and 9-12. The winners in each category will receive £40 book vouchers with runners up receiving £15 and £10 vouchers. Submissions can be drawn, painted, graphic designed or can be 3D.

Deadline for submissions will be Friday 16 June and they will be displayed at Penge Library from Monday 19 June.

Winners will be announced on Saturday 25 June.

Judges will include Sheju Adiyatiparambil-John, one of the creators of The Mysterious Dinosaurs of Crystal Palace Park.
