Architecture and Design Tour of Embassy Gardens

07 June 2023

15:00 -17:00

In recent years the Nine Elms area has been transformed: what once was a brownfield site stretching between Lambeth and Chelsea bridges is now a landmark regeneration zone, and a major new residential, business and culture district for central London.

Embassy Gardens is the landmark development in Nine Elms, wrapped around the new US Embassy and home to the world-first Sky Pool, bridging two buildings at ten storeys high. It is also home to a thriving retail scene, with independent bars, restaurants, retailers and culture hubs on the doorstep of over 1500 new homes.

Join Hal Currey of HAL Architects and a representative from developer Ballymore for a guided walking tour around this new neighbourhood – this will include the development’s publicly-accessible outdoor areas, park spaces (including the soon-to-be-complete Linear Park, which will run from Battersea to Vauxhall and provide new green space for both locals and visitors).

The tour will start at the Marketing Suite at Embassy Gardens, before exploring the development’s outdoor spaces, including the Sunken Pond and neighbouring Linear Park, and the local community of commercial tenants, with Hal leading the conversation on the architectural inspirations behind Embassy Garden’s design. The activity will then be followed a light drinks reception.

The tour will discuss living ‘In Common’ as you explore how the Nine Elms regeneration project is creating a vibrant new district for people to live, work and play, as well as the design inspirations behind this lifestyle hub.
