Uncover a world of texture through touch with artist and printmaker Fae Kilburn.
Crystal Palace Park has changed beyond recognition since its Victorian heyday. Forgotten statues occupy unglamorous locations, but what do these stone people mean to us today? How can we celebrate them as they are, what do we have in common?
During the morning you’ll visit the statue of Psyche Abandoned and have a chance to see old photos of how she used to look, there will be tactile prints available that can be explored through touch.
Back at Crystal Palace Museum there will be time to experiment with everyday textures, recycled and found objects and discover the art of embossed printmaking. You will learn how to ink up your printing plate, use a small printing press and create your own embossed print to take home.
No previous experience needed. All ages welcome
