Murals are the biggest paintings most of us will ever see. Brixton hosts a wonderful collection, painted on gable ends, railway arches and bridges, transforming the urban environment. Women artists have painted a significant number of these murals. This guided walk will take people around the Brixton murals including looking specifically at the work by Women's Art collectives : London Wall (1980s) and WOM (2020s).
The walk will be led by Ruth Miller from the London Mural Preservation Society identifying which of the local murals have been painted by women. Includes a visit to the new mural at Clapham Deep Shelter, supported by the Mayor of London
