A short film about North London’s overground sections of the Northern Line Edgware Branch. Opened in three stages, to Golders Green, to Hendon, and finally to Edgware, this film uses old maps, railway plans, photographs, and posters to tell the story of how this railway shaped this part of London, the romance of its buildings, bridges, and tunnels. How its construction turned farmed fields into suburban streets, with model towns, factories, an aerodrome, and theatres and cinemas.
Followed by a question and answer session with the film maker The London Borough Barnet’s Heritage Officer, Hugh Petrie.
