Join Zaha Hadid Architects and guest speakers as they present recent projects related to ‘Participatory Urbanism’. The digital realm offers another layer of opportunities for citizens and communities to engage with the cities they live in. The overlay of an interactive digital world, or metaverse, allows for participants to seek and discover interests held in common as well as actively collaborate to pursue them.
Speakers will share insights from their experience in gaming, education, interaction design, and architecture. They will present how the design of a video game can allow people of all ages to simulate and build their own cities while also demonstrating the complexities of considering communities, access, transport, and carbon impact.
Guest speakers:
Moderator: Siroun Button (St William Homes)
Epic Games: David Weir-McCall
Squint Opera: Jan Bunge
Zaha Hadid Architects: Henry Louth
The event is free and suitable for anyone interested in video games and how cities are designed.
