Write a poem of not more than 20 lines demonstrating an original response to any piece of architecture in Penge or Crystal Palace. Entry is free. Submit your poem with your name, age category and contact details by email marked LFA Poetry Competition to info@pengeheritagetrail.org.uk Closing date is Friday June 16. Two cash prizes of £25 in each age category: under eighteen and over eighteen.
The poem must be the author's own work with a clear indication of the aspect of the 'in common' theme being explored in the poem. For example: how does the architecture which is the focus of the poem cross social boundaries and yet retain its uniqueness in common with other buildings?
The Poetry Awards evening starts at 7.00pm on Saturday June 24 as part of the seasonal Penge Poets evening. Seats at the poetry evening are bookable via Eventbrite at £7.00 each which includes nibbles and a drink.. Places are limited to 30 so please book soon.

BlueBelle Cafe has blue and white signage above the entrance with cafe chairs and tables outside. The cafe is situated on Maple Road near to the Salvation Army building as you enter Maple Road on the left from Penge High Street. The owner is Erica Steenkamp.
The Poetry Awards evening will start at 7.00pm on Saturday June 24 as part of the seasonal Penge Poets evening. Prizewinners will have two reserved seats (each prizewinner plus one) and will be asked to read their winning poems and to allow the organisers to publish the poems online in festival-related copy.
