Join us to explore the Royal College of Physicians’ (RCP) Grade I listed home. Discover the architectural plans behind the design and enjoy a guided tour with an expert from the RCP Museum team.
Architect Denys Lasdun worked closely with the RCP to create a new headquarters that fulfilled very specific needs for England’s oldest medical college. Uniquely, Lasdun’s design incorporated public access, so non-medical professionals could learn about public health from the physicians. Join us to explore Lasdun’s inclusive design through the LFA theme ‘In common’.
Learn how Lasdun embraced the challenge of representing a changing organisation with a 500-year history, and how his building metaphorically represents a theme that we all have in common: our health.
You can also discover how the latest RCP building, the Spine in Liverpool, works in common with its occupants, neighbours and surroundings to embed an innovative approach to sustainability and wellbeing.
