This 2-mile afternoon suburban stroll (1.30pm – 4pm) will start at Golders Hill Park café, North End Road, London NW3 7HD and finish at Claremont Park – a new £6 million park at the heart of the new Brent Cross South redevelopment.
The walk will be led by local historian, retired town planner and Chair of the Barnet Green Spaces Network, Roger Chapman. We will examine a range of suburban architectural styles and explore different and emerging approaches to open space provision covering both volunteer led, and developer led park and facilities provision. Our open spaces and the links between them we hold in common but the buildings and management of space fronting on to them is variable and mostly private. We will think about these 'edge' issues and their impact on our suburbs along the walk.
A maximum of 20 places are available on the walk. To reserve a place please use the Eventbrite link.
Toilets and seats for an occasional rest are available on route but a reasonable level of fitness is required for these suburban strolls.
