A 7km (5 mile) walk from Edgware Library to Colindale Library through Art Deco Edgware, the Watling Estate and Booth Road estate, and taking in a number of fascinating buildings and sites.
Looking at the rich architectural heritage of Edgware, Burnt Oak, and Colindale. A surprising range of shops, houses, religious, and transport buildings, boasting fine examples of Art Deco and cottage homes, as well as the aeronautical heritage of the district, along the line of the 100 year old Edgware Branch of the Northern Line. Finishing with lunch at Colindale Library.
The walk is led by Hugh Petrie, Heritage Development Officer for London Borough of Barnet, who will be telling the history of the railway and surrounding architecture.
The walk, including time for lunch, will finish approximately at 2.30pm including breaks and sensible footwear is recommended.
